Morgan starred in an informational clip Safe Sex for Men and Women that addressed AIDS education and prevention. The proceeds went to the American Foundation for AIDS Research. Morgan is a part-time member of the Entertainment Industry AIDS Task Force. Morgan was the driving force behind many fund-raising campaigns for this disease. Morgan also gave a speech to an Congressional special committee on AIDS education. She sits on the board of Governors of APLA. C. Everett Koop asked her at times to take his place at AIDS events. In addition, she hosted a AIDS Awareness Special alongside anchorman Steve Bell. Ted Koppell asked her to make appearances on Nightline in relation to AIDS. Morgan was nominated to win an Emmy for the special Murphy Brown episode written by Diane English for her. The spring season saw Morgan co-starring with Joan Rivers as Your Money or Your Wife on ABC TV. The summer started in the form of Murder At The PTA Luncheon which was produced by Von Zerneck/Sertner. Marla Gibbs and Cindy Williams were also on the show. Her next project took her to Luxembourg to be a part of Harmony Gold's production of Sherlock Holmes and the Leading Lady with Christopher Lee and Patrick McNee. Morgan was also in the psychological thriller produced for USA Network. The film received one of the highest ratings ever.
